The Chevelles - Your shadow follows me
It's been a while since I wanted to talk of Chevelles.
Your shadow follows me is one of my favorite songs garage Quebec. Point.
It has everything to be perfect. A glaucous
theme - the ghost of a dead woman in love who follows her ex-boyfriend. A squeaky saxophone
well that is not unlike The Sonics.
A series of guitar chords to Stepping Stone very primitive.
morbid ambience, strange cries, of "Oh no baby!" desperate. A grand final
:
"Your shadow is always in the street, where I've often expect / I'm scared and I shut the door, yet I know you're dead ... WHY! Your shadow follows me ... "
A replay of the excellent and regretted Maccabees Sherbrooke, giving it an immortality, a cult ... a second life in garage culture.
... and pocket photo accompanying the first pressing of the 45 towers that is the envy of collectors!
copies without cover photo of this 45 rpm recorded in 1967 for the label are often Niagara on eBay, with little interest from international collectors. Yet Your shadow follows me is featured on the French compilation O thou Beatnik . Go figure ...
The Chevelles are Quebec and should be the pride of the fans of garage City. I do not see how adding new information not already been said about Rétrojeunesse60.com , we offer a complete picture of the group, accompanied by a series of photos to one million U.S. dollars!
Loves Chevelles. Your Ombe follows me, a classic Quebecois garage.
------------------------------------------------- ---
Your shadow follows me Simply Is A Classic, one of my favorite tunes of garage quebecois. It's got some cool weird lyrics: the singer says the ghost of dead ex-girlfriend history Follow Him around! It's got some cool Sonics style sax and a classic chord progression Stepping Stonesque. This just sounds sinister tune Whole. Can you dig it?

Warmest Socks For Poor Circulation
Wanted: The Assassin and The Marauders
is worrisome. They are called Marauders and they released a song led by a shadowy spellbinding sax entitled night in 1965. We imagine them holed up in a small street in Old Quebec, their hometown.
Marauders - Night
After launched two 45 laps without much success, The Marauders decide to take action. They become Assassins!
Their name is perfect! It hangs immediately. Assassins! It is threatening and aggressive, but guys are still full of class in their white suits . Real gentlemen burglars.
Assassins launched two 45s in 1966, on label STOP. The scenario is the same for these two discs: a good song garage / beat rhythmically on simple and well side B ballad and a cover of honey on the side A.
At Garage Sale, we focus on the B side On their first release is for You do not want me that fails, an excellent composition garage with thunderous cries, of infectious handclaps, a grainy voice and a guitar and accusatory biting well.
On their second release, is another original If you want to dance, which we won. Indeed, if you want to dance, there's only listen to this song and do the jerk! The rhythm is catchy and really hits the battery hard. Beding, bedang, enwaye way! These dynamic Assassins!
Frankly, we would have liked to hear more from the Assassins! We also want to see more photos! Assassins, where are you? Contact us at: felix_b_desfosses@hotmail.com

In the year 2525
Happy New Year to everyone! 2010 arrived, the hour is to the resolutions and predictions. To do so, Garage Sale offers back to the future, somewhere between 1969 and 2525. Listen while
read on!
You may remember Fred, which has already been discussed on Garage Sale, which took over a song for Love? Well here's a song from the duo that made him famous, and Nicole Frederick. Nicole's question, Nicole Martin, who has enjoyed great success in the 70s.
In September 1969, under the leadership of Tony Roman Revolution and its label, the duo launched its interpretation In the Year 2525 (Exordium and Terminus) duo Zager and Evans. There is a slight psychedelic pop song, ecologist and almost prophetic that puts humanity on guard against its destructive acts. Here's how
In the year 2525 described on Wikipedia (I would not have said it better!):
In the Year 2525 (Exordium and Terminus) describes millennium after millennium (all 1010 years: 2525, 3535 ...) a humanity that leaves out all its functions acts and thoughts to machines and pills until disappearing in 9595. As and when the music changes, the tone rises and the rate increases contributing to the anguish of the song.
The song has no chorus. Ultimately in 9595 the man may be still alive even though he exhausted all the resources of the earth: the environmental message is clear. In the end the reign of man is finished but the song restarts from the beginning suggesting the concept of cycles.
This song about a world cursed by his addiction to technology and its bid was echoed throughout the world in this period of late 1960. It describes a nightmarish vision of a world dehumanized by technology. It refers to Jesus' return (in 7510) of the "Jesus movement" of the hippie culture. It also refers to numerous technological advances that did not exist in practice at the time as robots, or not at all like babies specimen or genetic selection of babies who had been considered only in futuristic novels and never in the mainstream media until the release of this song in 1969.
40 years later, mankind has not understood the message. And anyway, if you look at the rumors, well, we will not even 2525 ... seems that everything is going to jump in 2012! Yay!
probably also convinced obscure fate of humanity (mouais. ..), Ginette Reno has also recorded a version of In the year 2525 in November 1969, surprising its eponymous English album. It was on this album found its sublime soulful interpretation of Do not Let Me Be Misunderstood you've heard of 1 or 2 podcasts Garage Sale. The interpretation of In the year 2525 Ginette is more pop, but it's a good one (like many songs on this album to discover).
Back to our duo apostles of love, new age and the age of Aquarius, Nycole (sic) and Frederick, who also launched another great song psychedelic wishes, performed by the always relevant and unique François Carel I love you once, twice ... I immediately liked the ethereal atmosphere of this piece. It's not the big trip, but it does very well work.
On the A side of the 45s released in 1967, there is also a cover interesting Happy Together (Happy both in French) of the Turtles. Not bad!
Happy New Year 2010 ... or 2525 ... as you prefer!
