Gillette - Karate

Gilles Brown is one such popular artists of the year 60 whose travels was flawless. It begins with

The Valentines in 1962 and launched his solo career around 1964. He recorded 3 albums and dozens of 45 laps.

Gilles Brown was also one of the most prolific throughout the decade adapters 60. God only knows that times of English and American hits, Quebec, there have been. Gilles Brown is behind hundreds of successful translations and adaptations, sung by all sorts of artists. But there's

of occasions that he kept for himself. In 1966, he kept Secret Agent, his adaptation of the song Secret Agent Man Johnny Rivers theme of the series Danger Man . Moreover, his version was pretty hyped by many DJs a few years ago. With reason, it is a very good recovery. It can be found on the compilation Flight Got the go. 1 .

Gillette - Secret Agent

As a taster for what's to come, Mr. Brown reveals her interest in martial arts:

...
He must fight with guys very sturdy
is why he knows so well judo
and when it is not enough
he uses karate
But he never knows if tomorrow will live
.. .

After hearing Secret Agent, I had absolutely know Karate . It could only be excellent. Especially because, Karate is one of his own compositions! It would have taken quite some time, but I finally get their hands on this rare 45s and overlook.

Wow! Should

although at the same time, I came across an article of time in which Gilles Brown talks about his physical training. We learn that after having practiced karate for several years, Mr. Brown started lifting weights. There are so many up, he aspired to become a champion weightlifter Canadian!

Gilles Brown was a true karateka!

We deduce therefore that his years of karate has given her one of his most original. Good 60's beat, recorded in 1968. Yes, okay, it was a little clean for the year, but the theme of the song bears all things.

Gillette - Karate

And read a few words:

He has a heart of stone and steel arms
and iron muscles to protect

His hands are hard as wood and
face of danger he did not tremble

It
Oh karate, karate

He keeps his cool when others are fearful
He mocks the beatings and the pain He feels

no need to prove
with this hand you can crush

is karate
Ah yes, karate

He has confidence in him before the danger
He has no inferiority complex

To defend himself he has only his two hands
He does not care because they can not

It
Oh karate, karate

Everything to make you want to practice sport fighter par excellence!

End 60, Gilles restarts Brown duet, this time with Yves Martin. Then in 1974 he discovered a passion for the world of painting. It is now two galeries. Une à Baie-St-Paul et l'autre à Montréal.
--------------------------------------------------------
Gilles Brown was a perfect pop artist in the sixties. Everything he did turned to gold. He is also responsible for hundreds of french adaptations of english and american success.

Among other things, he recorded a french version of Johnny Rivers' Secret Agent Man. It's been hyped and turned up on some comps.

But Le karate really is his coolest song. Brown really was doing karate and he then turned to weight lifting. That's cool.

Whay Color To Paint A Library

Manon - If you know something worse than a vampire, tell me always, it may perhaps make me smile

Qui l'eut cru!

Au Québec, dans les années 60, les groups have excelled in the times. There's no doubt. I am always amazed to find 45-inch featuring covers of American and English songs very obscure. But that, it exceeds many dark covers that I met in my life!

Maybe you already know the excellent song with an evocative title If you know something worse than a vampire, tell me still, maybe it will make me smile , the Swingin 'Miss Stella?

Ben here thou not that I come across a 45 in the same way today, in a dark place on what is called the South Shore. Only it turns 45 on Jupiter label is assigned to Manon. Simply, Manon.

Some web-searches lead me to discover that this is the pop music singer Manon Kirouac. She gave us some 45s pop during the decade of 60 before metamorphosing, late sixties, in Anne Renee! The

here in 1969, Manon has just become Anne Renee

And this then marry Anne Renee another Rene Angelil one, in 1973. He gave him two beautiful children. She will make a little animation on TV and then quietly disappeared from public space to '81, based in the shadow of an emerging young Celine Dion.

Hey ben!

Back to our song of interest ...

Unbelievable that this "novelty song" French as obscure and cult today also, was taken in Quebec in 1967! Naturally, the morbid theme we like most: a young woman who confesses love horror movies and, moreover, informs us that she must join her vampire boyfriend, because he has make bad blood! I love it. Listen

the result ...

Manon - If you know something worse than a vampire, tell me still, maybe it will make me smile

sorry the sound is not Yabe Yabe ... but I'll find another copy of this disc soon? I doubt it ...

Well, it's less gutsy and we can find no sound effects from the original piece, but I must say that kind of orchestration jerk / r'n'b Pierre Noles is still very interesting! Perfect to jiggle the pretty faces on dance floors go-go!

Manon, thank you for this beautiful jerk very obscure and murky well you like them!

Petit Extra, found on youtube, a song with a little soulish a very good groove Anne Renee

This Is the pop ye-ye girl Manon wraps Quebec The French Swingin 'Miss cult classic If you know something worse than a vampire, tell me still, maybe it will make me smile , Originally sung by Stella. Basically, the singer says she loves To Be Scared by horror movies and loves vampires and stuff!

Manon Then Her Name changed to Renee and Anne married Rene Angelil, The Baronet and future ex-manager / husband of Celine Dion.

Damn, This is weird / cool!
